NEWKIRK — Taylor Louis Adams, 33, Ponca City, was booked in the county jail on Oct. 14 on a failure to appear warrant issued after he failed to appear for an Oct. 2 court date. Bond is set at $20,000.

OKLAHOMA CITY — United State District Judge Timothy D. DeGiusti  has denied a motion filed by members of the Oklahoma Council on Judicial Complaints’ to dismiss a lawsuit filed by Kay County District Judge candidate Scott Loftis.

NEWKIRK — A court date is set for Levi Conrad Luis, 21, Newkirk, in Kay County District Court.

NEWKIRK — Heather Don Garcia, 42, Tonkawa, has been fined $100 for recording court proceedings in a Kay County District Court courtroom.

NEWKIRK — Two more felony cases have been filed against Dakota Wrangler Craig, 30, Ponca City, in Kay County District Court.

NEWKIRK — Lane Martin Meadows, 21, Ponca City, entered no contests pleas to his charges on July 27. On Oct. 5 he appeared before Judge David Wilkie for sentencing. Meadows is sentenced to 10 years in prison with all but 90 days suspended. He was granted credit for time served.

NEWKIRK — A court date is scheduled in Kay County District Court for Gage Michael Spears, 22, Ponca City, who now has seven cases pending after two felony counts of computer fraud were added to his list of charges on Sept. 17.

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is suing a hotel in Blackwell in federal court, alleging managers harassed and fired a worker after learning she was pregnant. Court records show Taylor Wickham started working at the Quality Inn of Blackwell in October 2023 as a housekeeper.
