PONCA CITY — The Ponca City Board of Commissioner met in regular session on March 13.  Mayor Homer Nicholson called the meeting to order, which was followed by the pledge of allegiance. Commissioners Robert Bodick, Garrett Bowers, Paul Taylor, and Kelsey Wagner were present. 

OKLAHOMA CITY – House Majority Leader Tammy West, R-Oklahoma City, today secured unanimous passage of a bill that would grant a tax credit to people who serve as caregivers to older family members at home.

NEWKIRK — Voters in Kay County who want absentee ballots mailed to them for the April 4  Election have until March 20 at 5 p.m. to make a request.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond announced today that his office has cleared a sizable backlog of Open Records requests that dated back to years before he took office. The announcement comes during Sunshine Week, an annual and nationwide celebration of access to public information and open government.

OKLAHOMA CITY — This week in the House saw us reach the halfway point of the legislative session. Before the committee deadline, we saw 543 bills pass out of House committees for consideration on the floor, and this week we heard 163 different measures before the full body. So far this session I’ve had four bills pass the House and one that is still on the floor calendar for consideration.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Two bills related to step therapy passed the Oklahoma House of Representatives this week.

OKLAHOMA CITY — The first month of every legislative session is dedicated primarily to committee work. All bills and joint resolutions must first go through the committee process before they are eligible to be heard by the full body of representatives on the House floor. They then must pass the Senate before being sent to the governor for consideration of being signed into law.

RED ROCK — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that a Red Rock resident is in stable condition following a one-vehicle accident that occurred at 5:19 p.m. Tuesday on County Road 170 north of Red Rock in Noble County.

OKLAHOMA CITY  — The Oklahoma Main Street Center announced the finalists of the program’s annual statewide awards competition. All finalists will be recognized and the winners announced during the 33rd annual Main Street Awards Banquet, May 2, in Oklahoma City.
