Ponca City police investigating second homicide in three days

PONCA CITY — Ponca City police are investigating the city’s second homicide in three days.

Police report that officers responded just before 3 a.m. Sunday to the 1600 block of south 10th Street for a report of a subject who had been beaten and left in the roadway.

Police report that officers arrived and found Patrick Warrior, 24 unconscious and bleeding from the head. Warrior was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives responded and began investigating which included interviewing multiple witnesses who said they saw two individuals beating Warrior and stomping on his head in the street.  

When the witnesses called 911 for help, one of the individuals who was seen beating Warrior, brandished a firearm and began shooting at the witnesses for calling the police. The PCPD Tactical Team arrived on the scene and, after multiple requests for the suspects to surrender were unsuccessful, they made entry into the suspect’s residence.  They were able to safely remove one adult witness and one child from the residence before taking the suspects into custody.

The two suspects have been identified as Alegandro Campos, 19, and Samuel Campos, 21. Both subjects were arrested and transported to the PCPD.

Police anticipate that both will be charged with murder in the death of Warrior and multiple other felony charges.

Samuel Campos’ criminal background includes a 2022 case in which he was charged as a youthful offender in a drug trafficking case. That case was dismissed in 2023. This is still an active investigation and Detectives are requesting anyone with further information to contact the Police Department.
