Ponca City couple escape injury after being involved in Bryan County accident

MEAD — A Ponca City couple escaped injury after being involved on a three-vehicle accident that left a pedestrian dead Friday night in Bryan County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that the accident occurred at 11:13 p.m. Friday on U.S. 70 at Streetman Road, two miles west of Mead.

Troopers report that three vehicles were involved including a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Clarance Shear, 42 Ponca City. His passenger is identified as Desirae Shear, 32, Ponca City. Neither were injured.

The other vehicles involved are a 2015 Toyota Corolla driven by Keon Christie, 23, Madill, who was treated and released at Alliance Health in Durant, and a  2009 Ford Ranger driven by Brenda Whittington, 64, Mead, and her two-year old female passenger. Both were transported to Alliance Health in Durant and released.

Troopers report that pedestrian Stefan Severini, 55, Mead, was pronounced deceased on scene.

Troopers report that they are investigating what happened and the cause of the accident and that all drivers and passengers were using seatbelts.
