The following information is provided by Ponca City police.

June 11

At 12:03 a.m. police responded to the 900 block of north Palm for a report of a gunshot and people yelling. At the same time a resident in the 800 block of north Birch reported that someone tried to break into a vehicle. The two calls were connected.

At 12:35 a.m. police responded to Mertz and took a report on a domestic.

At 2:05 a.m. police responded to Hartford and Union for a report of five gunshots. Officers did not locate anything.

At 3:14 a.m. police arrested Jmikel Thompson in the 900 block of north Birch for public intoxication.

At 6:57 a.m. police responded to the 300 block of south Oak for a report of fire extinguisher dust on a vehicle. The extinguisher was stolen from McDonald Electric.

At 7:33 a.m. police responded to the 400 block of north 10th for a report of a stolen bike. The bike had an AirTag on it and was located at a residence on Elmwood.

At 8:10 a.m. police responded to the 800 block of north Osage for ar report of a burglary in which firearms were stolen. A report was made.

At 8:50 a.m. police took a report on an accident near 14th and Hartford.

At 9:17 a.m. police took a report on two males reported missing. James Fredrick and Steve Young were reportedly last seen over a week ago. Fredrick was entered into NCIC.

At 11:10 a.m. police responded to the 800 block of east Ponca for a report of a subject of his medication and making threats. Officers deployed a taser on the subject. He was transported to the ET and then to Grand Lakes.

At 12:46 p.m. police received a call from a subject in the 1800 block of north Osage wanting information on the legality of basketball.

At 1:07 p.m. police took a report on an assault that occurred at Arby’s. A subject in a tan pick up reportedly assaulted an employee in the drive thru.   An officer went to a residence and attempted to make contact with the suspect. 

At 2:22 p.m. a resident in the 700 block of north Ash reported that a male on a bike came into the yard asking for a ride saying that the police are looking for him.

At 2:39 p.m. police responded to the former Pizza Inn building for a report of a subject stealing copper. An officer reported that the male had a job interview and left the back pack at the location.

At 3:02 p.m. police took a report on a two-vehicle accident at Broughton and Prospect.

At 5:37 p.m. police responded to the 400 block of north Palm for a report that Joel McBlair was burning Ponca City Monthly magazines in the backyard. An officer advised the subject of the city ordinance. (see related story)

At 9:18 p.m. police responded to a report of a female in a garage saying that she had been molested. Officers advised that she refused medical. 


The following information is provided by the Kay County Sheriff’s Department.

June 11

At 8:26 a.m. a deputy recovered stolen property.

At 9:56 a.m. a female contacted KSO and reported that a male is using older women and stealing money from them.

At 10:06 a.m. Donna Owens was arrested on warrants.

At 1:11 p.m. deputies searched a vehicle at Burke’s Wrecker for a credit card.

At 6:20 p.m. a deputy responded to the 800 block of north Elm and spoke to residents about a disagreement concerning a tree.

At 8:02 p.m. Blackwell police notified KSO of a vehicle accident on I-35 north of mile marker 232. A wrecker responded.

At 8:28 p.m. KSO was notified of an accident near Prentice and Hubbard Road. OHP was notified.
