BLACKWELL — The Blackwell Flycatchers returned home and hosted the North Platte 80s in a continuing series at Morgan Field.

The 80s ended Blackwell’s four game winning streak, that began against them in Nebraska, with a 6-4 victory.

The 80s jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning as Blackwell’s Owen Little allowed four runs on four hits.

Former New York Yankee prospect and Blackwell Flycatcher, Ramifer Salinas, homered in the bottom half of the first off of rookie Hobie Hood, to get Blackwell on the board.

That would end the scoring until the 9th inning when North Platte added two more runs to take a 6-2 lead.

Rookie Jerry Liang took the mound for North Platte to try and close out the game. After getting Salinas to strike out, Marcus Bracey reached first on a walk and promptly stole second and third base.

After Ty Andrews struck out for the second out, Joey Dice belted a two run homer to make the score 6-4 before Nico Ojeda struck out to end the game.

Hood earned the win for the 80s and Little suffered the loss for Blackwell.

Salinas leads the Flycatchers in homers with four while Skantze leads the team in RBIs  with 16.
