Court date set for Ponca City resident charged in assault cases

NEWKIRK— A court date is set for Kevin Lemel Eagle Rhodd, 29, Ponca City, in Kay County District Court.

Rhodd is facing a felony count of domestic assault and battery and or assault with a dangerous weapon and a misdemeanor count of threaten to perform act of violence.

Kay County deputy Dakota Stephen reports in the affidavit that on Feb. 4 he responded to a report of an intoxicated male trying to stab another at a residence on south Pleasantview Road.

Deputies and Bureau of Indian Affairs police responded and arrived and was told that Kevin Rhodd was intoxicated and had left the residence with a 6-inch long knife.

Rhodd’s brother reportedly told authorities that Kevin threatened to stab him and that he protected himself with a baseball bat.

Officials started looking for Kevin.

BIA police conducted a traffic stop on Kevin’s mom who reportedly said she took him to a home in White Eagle.

Authorities located him at the residence and arrested him.

He was later released on bond and failed to appear.

On Feb. 20, Ponca City police responded to a report of a stabbing near the intersection of Oak and Grand in which Rhodd was named the suspect.

He was arrested in March and charged with the a felony count of assault and battery by force likely to produce death. He is being held on $100,000 bond.
