Blackwell Flycatchers back home Monday; First pitch set for 6:30 p.m.

NORTH PLATTE, NEB. — The Blackwell Flycatchers continued their winning ways Sunday with their fourth victory in a row over the North Platte 80s, 20-5.

The victory launched their record to 7-5 while North Platte falls to 1-10.

Blackwell jumped out to a two run lead in the first and never looked back. 

They added five runs in the third on four hits and the assistance of two errors.

North Platte scored three runs in the third on four hits.

Blackwell added another run in the fourth inning after Marcus Bracey scored on a Tyler Carpenter single.

The Flycatchers added two more runs in the sixth and added four runs in the seventh with out the help of a hit.

Rey Lozano reached first on an error and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Joey Dice drew a walk and Jack Skantze was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Lozano scored on a Ramifer Salinas ground out. Damon Burroughs got hit by a pitch.  Dice scored on a Marcus Bracey ground out. Skantze and Burroughs would come around and score on an error before Tyler Carpenter made the final out.

North Platte answered with two runs to make the score 14-5.

After a scoreless eighth, Blackwell topped off the scoring with six runs on six hits in the ninth for the 20-5 victory.

Braeden Levandowski picked up the win for Blackwell while Lake Fisher suffered the loss for North Platte. Burroughs led Blackwell with four runs in the game while Salinas and Burroughs both had three hits. 

The two teams will square off at 6:30 p.m. in Blackwell on Monday night at Morgan Field in the first of a four game series that includes a double header Tuesday beginning at 4 p.m.
