NEWKIRK — A court date is set for Lexis Demeris Woodman, 22, Ponca City, in Kay County District Court.

Woodman is facing a felony count of feloniously pointing a firearm.

Ponca City police report that on April 26, officers responded to the 800 block of north Palm for a report of a female pointing a gun.

There, the resident told police that she allowed her son to go to Paladin Apartments and be with friends.

Later she was informed that one of her son’s friends may have stolen a firearm, so she went to pick up her son and was asked to pick up another juvenile. She brought them both back to her house.

The resident told police that 45 minutes later, a female identified as Woodman, arrived at the house to pick up the juvenile and made threats.

The female’s husband told police that he grabbed a 2×4 and went outside and Woodman reportedly then grabbed a gun and pointed it at the male.

The resident told police that his kids were on the porch at the time and that he tried to shield them. Woodman reportedly pointed the gun,  backed out of the driveway and left.

Police located Woodman a short time later near the intersection of Fifth Street and Highland and conducted a traffic stop.

She told police that her brother took a gun from her earlier in the day and that she did not find out until later. Woodman claims that she went to the home on Palm to pick up her brother and that the male resident was aggressive so she pulled the gun.

Police arrested Woodman at the intersection. She is free on $25,000 bond.
