Kelley said that authorities responded to the bridge and have confirmed that the male has a pistol strapped to his side.

“We are negotiating with him and have him on the phone with my dispatch and his father,” said Kelley.

Deputies from both agencies have the bridge closed and Ponca City police are assisting with road blocks at Pecan.

Kelley said Pecan all the way to Kelley Ave. is closed as is South Ave. to Lake Road.
