KCEM working with NWS to confirm tornado touchdown in Ponca City

NEWKIRK — Kay County Emergency Management director Daniel Hesson reports that the county is collaborating with the National Weather Service to confirm a low-end tornado touched down on Monday night, May 6, at  8:45 p.m.

The storms affected far east/southeast Ponca City around the Lake Ponca area and moved northeast through Kay County. 

Hesson said that since Tuesday, Kay County has been actively collecting evidence and photos. 

“If neither Kay County Emergency Management nor the Kay County Assessor’s Office has visited your property and you believe you have damages directly related to these storms, please email  contact information, address, and any photos of the damages to dhesson@courthouse.kay.ok.us.”
