Court date set in lewd acts with a minor case

NEWKIRK — A court date is set for Aaron Xavier Amador, 23, Ponca City, in Kay County District Court.

Amador is facing a felony count of lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16 and misdemeanor charges of contributing to the delinquency of minors, possession of marijuana and unlawful possession od drug paraphernalia.

Kay County deputy Dakota Stephen reports in the affidavit that on March 9 he was notified by Tonkawa police of a vehicle that had possibly wrecked  in the 700 block of north 7th Street and was currently parked behind a shed on private property.

The deputy and Tonkawa police officers went to the location and found a male, later identified as Amador, in the vehicle with a female, who was hiding under a blanket.

The female refused to identify herself and was hiding her face with a hoodie.

The deputy reportedly removed the hoodie from her face and was able to identify her as a 13-year-old.

Stephen reportedly searched the vehicle and found alcohol, a bong, and marijuana.

The teen’s mom was summoned to the scene. The teen reportedly told her mother that she met Amador on Snapchat.

Amador was arrested on warrants.

His criminal background includes a second degree rape charged filed in 2019. That case was dismissed on Jan. 26, 2022 at the request of the alleged victim.

On Sept. 14, 2022, he was charged with assault and battery. He was convicted of that offense on Nov. 6, 2023 and given a five year suspended sentence. He is being held on $1 million bond.
