The following is provided by the Kay County Sheriff’s Department.

March 30

At 8:55 a.m. KSO received a report of cows out near Trader’s bend and Kildare Road.

At 11 a.m. KSO responded to a report of a cow out at Highway 60 and R Street.

At 11:02 a.m. KSO received a report of two cows out near Duck Creek RV Park.

At 12:01 p.m. a 911 caller advised that his wife was involved in a road rage incident. A male in a gray Mini Cooper reportedly got out of the vehicle and pointed a gun at the female. The female reportedly told deputies that she was driving slowly on a dirt road when the male described as middle age with a reddish beard, wearing a trucker’s hat tailgated her, swerved around her, pulled off on the shoulder and got out. The female also pulled over and the male yelled at her and brandished the firearm. Deputies searched the area around Kaw City and Coon Creek. At 3:15 p.m. a citizen contacted a deputy and reported that the vehicle was at Dollar General in Kaw City. The vehicle reportedly has a Choctaw Nation tag and is registered to a subject in Yukon. At 3:46 p.m. deputies located the suspect, 40-year-old Ricky Cox, at Washunga Camp Grounds. He reportedly claimed that the gun was in the holster. A warrant request was made.

At 1 p.m. an Amazon driver reported that loose dogs chased followed her vehicle in the 14000 block of west Prospect and chewed up her bumper.

At 3:57 p.m. BIA police informed deputies of a two-vehicle accident at Oklahoma 11 and Highway 77 and that the southbound lanes were blocked. One subject was trapped in a vehicle. Newkirk police responded. At 4:01 BIA police reported that the subject was breathing but unresponsive. A medical chopper was requested. Newkirk and Ponca City fire units responded. At 4:46 p.m. a deputy and a trooper went to the hospital to assist with a positive ID. At 5:24 p.m. medical staff pronounced the subject deceased. The second subject involved suffered minor injuries. OHP did not release a report despite requests. Sources report that 23-year-old Haiden Rain Tiger was killed in the accident. To view his obituary click here.

At 4:42 p.m. PCPD confirmed warrants on Daniel Morales, and Vanessa Dent. Both were arrested.

At 4:23 Lighthouse Police confirmed warrants on Alissa Woodfield.

At 6:18 p.m. PCPD confirmed warrants on Sydonia Chatfield. She was arrested at Paladin Apartments.

At 7:14 p.m. Newkirk ambulance and Kaw City EMS responded to north 106 Lane for a report of a 65-year-old man not breathing. The subject was deceased and Stittsworth Funeral responded.

At 9:17 p.m. a deputy advised of a fire west of the intersection of Ridin High. Firefighters responded.

At 9:54 p.m. PCPD responded to the 300 block of north Pine for a report of gunshots. When officers made entry to the apartment, a male suffering from a gunshot to the torso was found with a weak pulse. The subject was transported to Integris Medical via ambulance. Assistance from deputies was declined.

March 29

At 12:06 a.m. police responded to the 1400 block of west Doolin for a report of a male and female stepping into traffic. 

At 7:27 a.m. a resident requested animal control in connection to a brown bird tearing up trash.

At 2:22 p.m. police received a report of a subject yelling at kids in Braman. The call was transferred to KSO.
