M.E. office identifies victim of McCord house fire

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim of a fatal house fire in the McCord area as 61-year-old Douglas Dean Tedrow.

The medical examiner’s report indicates that the cause of death is unknown.

On Sept. 15, 2023, firefighters and law enforcement responded to 185 McCord Road for a report of a home on fire.

Ponca City resident Michael Ray Porter, 33, was transported via ambulance to Alliance Health and later arrested by Osage County deputies.

Porter is facing charges in Kay County and Osage County including arson, and desecration of a human corpse.

A preliminary hearing is set for Porter on May 16 in Osage County District Court.
