The following information is provided by Ponca City police.

Feb. 23

At 4:26 a.m. police responded to the Triple T in the 400 block of south 14th Street for a report of a female trying to get away from a male subject. The male reportedly came to the store after the female left stating that he was going to assault her and told the employee not to call police. Police responded and arrested David Walters for public intoxication.

At 9:12 a.m. police responded to East Middle School for a report of a prowler. The school investigated.

At 9:56 a.m. police responded to the 600 block of north Osage for a report that fugitive Joyce Newrider was in the area. She was located and arrested on a domestic charge.

At 3:02 p.m. police arrested Brian Hanks on warrants in the 200 block of north 14th Street.

At 3:56 p.m. police responded to 4th and South Ave. for an accident involving an ambulance. No injuries were reported. Ambulance 119 was towed from the scene.

At 8:25 p.m. police arrested Melissa Miles at Glo Tanning for public intoxication.

Feb. 24

At 6:07 a.m. police arrested Melvin Harragarra for DUI at First Street and South Ave.

At 9:40 a.m. police arrested Cory Dewayne Neely on domestic warrants in the 800 block of Sunset.

At 10:09 a.m. police responded to the railroad tracks at Prospect for a report of a white Chevy pickup who it the railroad arms and broke them.

At 1:55 p.m. police responded to a two-vehicle accident at 5th and Prospect.

At 3:33 p.m. police responded to a two-vehicle accident at Second and Albany. The subjects reportedly fled the scene.

At 4:10 p.m. police responded to a report of a hit and run in the 900 block of east Prospect. The suspect vehicle is described as a silver Ford Explorer.

At 5:32 p.m. police received a report of a nude woman in the area of Washington and Otoe asking for a ride to the hospital. An ambulance responded and transported the female.

Feb. 25

At 12:33 a.m. police responded to The Fox for a report of a vehicle vandalized and items stolen.

At 2:14 a.m. police arrested Searson Kios on domestic assault in the 400 block of Hampton.

At 2:51 a.m. police responded to a report of mini van that hit a light pole in the 8th and Highland. A report was made.

At 10:52 a.m. police arrested Tanner Pace on a domestic charge in the 1900 block of Jane.

At 1:35 p.m. police responded to a shooting at 2040 north 5th Street. Police continue to search for the suspect Andrew Pappan. (see story)

At 3:47 p.m. police arrested Jeffery Myers at Walmart for petit larceny.

At 4 p.m. police responded to the 600 block of west Emporia for a report of a cremains found near a creek with a name on it.

At 4:44 p.m. police took a child abuse report.

AT 5:33 p.m. police received a report of two hispanic men asking women for assistance with their four door sedan covered in chrome near Hunan’s.

At 6:22 p.m. police responded to Rib Crib for a report of a firearm found in a bathroom. At 7:12 p.m. the gun owner retrieved his firearm.

At 6:25 p.m. police responded to the 300 block of east Prospect for a report of a burglary.

At 7:26 p.m. police arrested Michael Newton for assault and battery on an officer at Elm and Otoe.

Feb. 26

At 5:08 a.m. police responded to Integris Health for a report of an assault victim. The subject said he was assaulted near a Park but didn’t want a report.

At 9:22 a.m. police responded to a report of a white Mustang parked in the alley between Pine and Oak in the 100 block of south Pine. The vehicle was moved.

At 3:10 p.m. police responded to a vehicle reported stolen with a child in it in the 800 block of west Highland. At 4;13 p.m. a child abuse report was taken at the location.

At 3:15 p.m. police responded to a two-vehicle accident on the train tracks on grand. No injuries were reported.

At 4:58 p.m. police were advised that shooting suspect Andrew Pappan was spotted in the 400 block of west Gary during the night. At 6:46 p.m. police checked a residence and did not find Pappan. At 7:03 p.m. officers searched the Ashley Inn for Pappan. At 7:55 p.m. a caller reported Pappan had been back in the 400 block of west Gary wearing a red hat, white shirt and on a bike. Police located the subject and report that it was not Pappan.

At 5 p.m. police arrested Sharyn Tapp for DUI at Dollar Tree after responding to a report of a female slurring words.

At 6:15 p.m. police responded to a report of two aggressive dogs at the RecPlex. The dogs were returned home.

At 6:44 p.m. police took a report after a mother reported picking up her child from a day care and seeing scratches on him.

Feb. 27

At 12:39 a.m. police responded to Paradise Apartments for a report of a man with a knife possibly assaulting a female. The victim denied to make a report.

At 1:07 a.m. police responded to the Lazy K. The logs indicate an arrest was made for falsely impersonating another. No name is logged.

At 8:45 a.m. police took a report on a stolen maroon F150 truck stolen from Craig Engine Repair, 115 north Pine.

At 9:21 a.m. police responded to Stuteville Ford to pick up video footage of a male who reportedly stole a Bronco from the dealership.

At 11:13 a.m. police responded to west Grand for a report of a male waving an orange flag and yelling through a bullhorn. Police report that he was protesting.

At 12:45 p.m. police responded to East Middle School for a report of a prowler. 

At 1:39 p.m. police responded to Walmart for a report of a theft that occurred last month.

At 2:29 p.m. police responded to Broadway Plaza for a death.

At 3:54 p.m. police responded to Lake and Pecan for a report of an accident. A report was made.

At 5:57 p.m. police arrested Tyler Biller on a burglary charge at Overbrook and Union.

At 5:58 p.m. police received a report of a male carrying a pistol near prospect and Union. Police advised it was an open carry.

At 6:39 p.m. Stillwater police reported that a yellow 2020 John Deere skid was stolen from a job site.

Feb. 28

At 5:56 p.m. police arrested Monhatwa Dakota for domestic assault at Meadowbrook Village.

At 6:13 p.m. police arrested Jacob Lozoya on a domestic charge in the 700 block of north 4th Street.

At 8:21 p.m. police responded to a three-vehicle accident at Atwoods.

The following information is provided by the Kay County Sheriff’s Department.

Feb. 26

At 8:18 a.m. a caller contacted KSO about a sexual crime that may have occurred in Blackwell. A case number was requested.

At 10:25 a.m. a deputy went to Paladin Apartments to assist PCPD searching for fugitive Alexander Combs. He was not located.

At 4:35 p.m. KSO received a report of a male exposing himself at the Kaw Lake overlook on Lake Road. Another caller reported that a subject was trying to sell meth in the area. A deputy located the subject and made the arrest. NO name is logged.

At 4:49 p.m. KSO received a report of a house on fire in the 400 block of Hickory. The home owner and a friend began dousing the flames before Kaw City fire arrived. The fire was extinguished. The cause is reportedly a lit cigarette. The home owner reports the home suffered minor damage and that two doors kicked in by the fire department will need replaced.

Feb. 27

At 1:52 p.m. KSO was advised that the train cross arms at Hubbard and Pleasantview were wrapped around a pole.

Feb. 26

At 8:57 a.m. police took a report on a fraudulent charge made on a credit card at O’Rieley’s in the amount of $196.79.

At 3:34 p.m. police took a report on a dog bite in the 1300 block of west Wilson.

At 6:59 p.m. Blackwell police received a report of people on a building throwing pebbles at vehicles near Oklahoma and Main.
