Candidate filing ends with two races on tap

NEWKIRK — Candidate filing ended Wednesday at the Kay County Election Board with two races developing.

In Newkirk, Jason Ross Grace, 37, filed for Newkirk School Board seat No. 4 and will challenge incumbent Trevor O’Brien, 43.

In Ponca City, Stephanie Lanell Austin, 41, and Harold Lee Randolph, 34, will compete for Ponca City Commission seat No. 2, being vacated by Paul Taylor.

Other candidates who will retain or obtain seats are:

Barclay Ann Locke, 40,Peckham Board of Education seat No. 2.

Cody Allen Wingo, 32, Shidler Public Schools Board seat No. 3.

Anna Roland, 42, retains Ponca City Public School Board seat No. 4.

Abigail Mae Montoya, 35, retains Blackwell Public Schools, seat No. 4.

Jerry Lynn Hook, 56, retains Tonkawa school board seat No. 4.

Joseph Donald Soulek, 66, retains Pioneer Technology Center, seat No. 2.

Robert Bodick, 56, retains Ponca City Commission seat No. 4.

Patricia M. Hullet, 80, retains the Blackwell mayor position.

David Todd Murphy, 57, obtains Blackwell City Council seat No. 4.

Those who have filed at the State Election Board for Office of the President of the U.S. are: Republicans, Donald J. Trump, 77; Nikki Haley, 51; Ron DeSantis, 45, Chris Christie, 61, Ryan Binkley, 56, Dallas, Texas; David Stuckenberg, 42, Tampa Bay, Florida; Asa Hutchinson, 73, and Vivek Ramaswamy, 38. 

Democrats Dean Phillips, 54; Joseph R. Biden, 81; Armando Mando Perez-Serrato, 47, Orange Cailfornia; Marianne Williamson, 71, Washington, D.C.; Stephen Lyons, 62, Damascus, Missouri, and Cenk Uygur, 53, Los Angeles, Cailf.

Libertarians, Jacob Hornberger, 73, Broadlands, Virginia, and Chase Oliver, 38, Atlanta, Georgia.

Candidates have until 5 p.m. Friday to withdraw or contest a Declaration of Candidacy.
