Upcoming events and Ponca City holiday schedule

PONCA CITY — The following events are planned and the following entities will be closed for Thanksgiving.

Ponca Politics State of the County session will be held on Friday, Nov. 17, from noon to 1 p.m., in the Commission Chamber of City Hall. 

Mayor Nicholson will lead the count down and lighting of the Centennial Plaza Christmas Tree on Friday, Nov. 17, at 6:30 p.m., prior to the beginning of Ice on the Plaza activities at 7 p.m.; A two mile Glow Run through the Festival of Angels lights will be on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m., at Lake Ponca Ambuc Park; and the Festival of Angels opens Wednesday, Nov.  22 at 6:30 p.m.

The City of Ponca City will observe the Thanksgiving Holiday:

• City Hall Offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 23, and Friday, Nov.  24.

• Residential Refuse will not be picked up Thursday, Nov. 23, or Friday, Nov. 24, and will resume Monday, Nov.  27.  

• Ponca City Landfill will be closed Nov. 23, and Nov. 24, and will reopen Saturday, Nov. 25.

• Ponca City Library will close at 5 p.m. on Nov.  22, and reopen Nov.  27.

• Marland’s Grand Home will be closed Nov. 23 and Nov. 24. It will reopen on Nov. 25.  

• Marland Mansion and Estate will be closed Nov. 23-24 and reopen Nov. 25.

• Lew Wentz Golf Course will be closed Nov. 23, and will reopen Friday, Nov. 24.

• Ponca City Senior Center will be closed Nov. 23 and will reopen Nov. 27.

• Ponca City RecPlex will be open Thursday, Nov.  23, 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. and reopen on Nov. 24. 

•      A City Commission work session will be held on Monday, Nov. 20 at 2 p.m.
