PONCA CITY — The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality will host an informational public meeting 6-8 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Pioneer Technology Center-Seminar Center West, 2101 N. Ash Street, in Ponca City to solicit feedback on potential projects for the agency’s Climate Pollution Reduction Grant.

EPA created the CPRG program in 2023 with funding from the Inflation Reduction Act.

DEQ applied for and was awarded $3 million under Phase 1: Planning Grants.

As the lead agency for CPRGOK (CPRG Oklahoma), DEQ will work with multiple partners, including the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University and other state and local organizations, to develop a statewide Priority Action Plan, Comprehensive Action Plan, and Status Report.

Through the PAP and CAP, DEQ will develop voluntary initiatives for reducing pollution and improving air quality.

DEQ will hold several meetings throughout the state to update the public and provide a forum for citizen and stakeholder feedback.

A virtual option will be available at the meeting on Nov. 28 in Oklahoma City.
