Blackwell woman arrested in Nebraska on drug charges

HEBRON, Neb.— A Blackwell woman has been arrested in Nebraska on drug charges.

The Thayer County Sheriff’s Department reports that on Nov. 4 a deputy initiated a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 81 for the offense of speeding. Upon contact with the driver, identified as Sheryl Broadwater, 62, the deputy detected the strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. 

With the assistance of the K9 unit deputies conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and reportedly located marijuana, THC, THC gummies, and psilocybin mushrooms, which were packaged individually in clear baggies. 

Broadwater was arrested on complaints of possession of controlled substance (Class IV Felony), possession of controlled substance-Sch1/2/3 (Class IIIA Felony), and possession with intent to deliver (Class IIA Felony). Broadwater was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail located in Fairbury, Neb.
