Warrant issued for Blackwell man accused of child abuse and child neglect

NEWKIRK — A warrant is issued for Kenneth Lee Brittain, 39, Blackwell, by the Kay County District Court.

Brittain was charged on Oct. 20 with two felony counts of child abuse and three felony counts of child neglect. 

Blackwell police report that Brittain is accused of stomping the head of a 14-year-old and attempting to pistol whip him. Police report that the stomping left a palm-sized goose egg. Brittain is also accused of hitting the teen in the back with a rechargeable flashlight.

Bond is endorsed at $25,000.
