Former MMA Fighter arrested in Kay County on out of state warrants

BLACKWELL — Former Dragon House MMA Fighter, Lamar Marques Gosey, 35, has been arrested in Kay County for the second time in two months.

Gosey was first arrested by a Kay County deputy in June on an Alameda County, California warrant during a traffic stop in Blackwell.

Deputy Lindsey Elliott stopped a vehicle near the intersection of A Street and McKinley. 

Gosey was identified as the driver. A warrant check conducted by Elliott came back showing Gosey was wanted in California on a domestic violence charge and that no bond is set.

Gosey was arrested and transported to the Kay County Detention Center to await extradition.

Sheriff Steve Kelley said that California authorities released the hold and that Gosey was released from jail on June 26.

Gosey was booked back in the county jail on July 25 on an Nevada hold.

Records show that Gosey was arrested in Reno, Nevada on Feb. 23, 2022 on complaints of domestic battery, kidnapping and domestic battery by strangulation.

MMA fighter stats shows that Gosey’s fight record is three wins and one loss.

The loss was recorded in his last fight that took place on Aug. 28, 2020 in South Dakota, when he was defeated by Josh Fremd.

Gosey is also credited for playing a drunk guy in a bar in the 2022 movie “Strong Hawk: My Sister’’s Keeper.”
