Court date set in child endangerment by DUI case

NEWKIRK — A status docket is set for Landon Boone Cluff, 19, Burbank, in Kay County District Court.

Cluff is facing a felony count of child endangerment by DUI and a misdemeanor count of DUI of alcohol and or drugs.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers Aaron Crompton reports in the affidavit that on March 17 he assisted trooper Adam Beck with a possible impaired driver at the intersection of U.S. 60 and Q Street.

Beck reportedly told Crompton that he stopped the vehicle for doing 86mph in a 70mph zone and that driver reportedly admitted to drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana an hour before driving. A 13-year-old was also in the vehicle.

The driver identified as Cluff was placed in Crompton’s unit. There he reportedly told Crompton that he consumed on shot of vodka and took a hit off of a joint.

The trooper reports his eyes were bloodshot and that his speech was thick and slurred.

Cluff is free on $5,000 bond.
