UPDATE: No contest plea entered

NEWKIRK — On June 12, 2023, Martin-Robinson entered a no contest plea to the charge and sentencing is pending the outcome of drug court.

NEWKIRK — A warrant with bond endorsed at $20,000 is issued for Joshua Cameron Martin-Robinson, 28, Tonkawa, by the Kay County District Court.

Martin-Robinson was charged on March 10, 2021 with a felony count of driving under the influence.

Kay County deputy John Garcia reports that he initiated a traffic stop east of R Street on U.S. 60 after observing a vehicle cross the dividing line between lanes.

Garcia reports that Martin-Robinson was the driver and that he had blood shot eyes and slurred speech.

When asked how much he had to drink, he reportedly stated, “Enough.”

He reportedly failed three standard field sobriety tests and reduced to take a breath test.

Since then, at least 13 court dates have been scheduled in the matter and Martin-Robinson has failed to appear at least three times with the last failure to appear occurring on March 3, 2023.
