NEWKIRK — A court date is scheduled for Nicholas Todd Van Brunt, 45, Yukon, in Kay County District Court.

Van Brunt is facing felony counts of aggravated trafficking in fentanyl and trafficking in meth after a felony conviction.

The charges were filed by Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics on Feb. 28.

Authorities report in the affidavit that on Feb. 21, OHP Trooper Tyler Langston conducted a traffic stop on a white 2019 Chevrolet Silverado at the intersection of U.S. 60 and Main Street in Tonkawa.

Van Brunt was identified as the driver.

Langston reports that he could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle and that Van Brunt reportedly stated there was meth and pills in the vehicle.

Officials report that a bag located in the front seat reportedly contained 94.1 grams of meth and 133 fentanyl pills, 48.5 Xanax bars, and 31gel caps containing fentanyl.

Van Brunt was transported to the county jail and interviewed.

Authorities report that he admitted that he was going to sell the drugs to a subject in Ponca City for $2,500. Van Brunt is being held on $150,000 bond.
