NEWKIRK — A warrant is issued for Adam Wayne Perciful, 45, Ponca City, by the Kay County District Court.

Perciful is charged with a felony count of kidnapping and a misdemeanor count of assault and battery.

Ponca City police report in the affidavit that on Jan. 26 an officer responded to a report of a domestic between a male and female.

The alleged victim reportedly told police that Perciful held her hostage on Jan. 22 for 24 hours and that he attacked her. He reportedly hit her causing her to see black and white and threatened to kill her.  The female said she got away and had been staying in her car since.

On Jan. 26, she went back to the home to see if he had left. He arrived and she called police.

Police confirmed that Perciful was wanted in Oklahoma County on domestic warrants and arrested him.

He was interviewed at the Kay County jail about the allegations made by the female.

He reportedly told police that he has had back surgeries and that something triggered his back pain. He claimed that the female was taking care of him and that she put bags from work in an attic.

Perciful said one of those bags fell and knocked the female off her chair. He denied having a physical altercation with the female.

Perciful has since appeared in Oklahoma County Court.
