NEWKIRK — Warrants are issued for Darin Shane Webster, 42, and Lacey Lynn Robbins, 30, both of Ponca City, by the Kay County District Court.

Both are facing felony counts of conspiracy and knowingly concealing and or receiving stolen property filed on Feb. 24.

Ponca City police report that officers investigated a report of an Australian Shepherd puppy stolen from the 900 block of north Pine on Oct. 14.

The dog was reportedly valued at $1,200.

On Oct. 15, the owner called police and reported that she knew who had the dog.

Police made contact with Robbins and did not find the dog. Officers then made contact with Webster’s father who reportedly said Webster brought a puppy to the residence. A photo of the dog was shown to some Walmart employees who reportedly said it looked like a dog posted on Facebook as stolen.

Webster’s parents contacted the owner of the dog and gave it back.

Police located Darin who reportedly stated the dog was given to him by a female who owed him money.

Police contacted the female and she denied giving Webster a dog.

Charges were later filed against Webster and Robbins with bond endorsed at $5,000.

Webster has a second case pending against him that was filed on Sept. 28, 2020.

In that case he is facing a felony charge of sending obscene material by electronic communication. (see story). Bond is set at $10,000 in that case.

Robbins criminal background includes burglary and larceny charges filed in 2020 and 2021.
