Blackwell police investigating suspicious death

BLACKWELL — Blackwell police are investigating the death of a 44-year-old male reported on Thursday.

Interim police chief Cory Ingram, who took over this week for retired chief Dewayne Wood, said that police and medics responded to 218 east Kansas Ave. in Blackwell for a report of an unresponsive male. The subject was declared deceased and the medical examiner was notified.

Police are working with the M.E. to determine the cause of death.

Ingram said more details will be released as they become available.
