Ponca City man killed in accident on Hubbard Road

PONCA CITY — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that a Ponca City man is dead following a one-vehicle accident that occurred at 3 a.m. today on Hubbard Road west of Waverly.

Troopers report that Hayden Jones, 67, was traveling east on Hubbard Road in a 2004 GMC Envoy when he departed the road to the left for an unknown reason. The vehicle struck a guide wire, rolled an unknown amount of times and came to rest on the driver’s side. Jones was ejected at least two-feet away from the vehicle.

Troopers report that the cause of the accident is under investigation but that the odor of alcohol was present and that a seatbelt was not in use.
