Court date set for Winfield, Kan. woman accused of drug trafficking

NEWKIRK — A court date is set for Teresa Darlene Easterly, 59, Winfield, Kan., in Kay County District Court.

Easterly is charged with a felony count of trafficking in illegal drugs and a misdemeanor count of possession of meth.

Newkirk police report that on Oct. 13 an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of north Main and made contact with Easterly.

Easterly reportedly admitted to police that she had smoked marijuana five minutes earlier.

An officer searched the vehicle and reports finding 13.3 grams of meth in a baggie and another 7.7 grams of meth in a second baggie.

She was booked in the county jail and released on $1,500 bond.
