NEWKIRK — A court date is set for Cheyenne Michelle Heath, 41, Owasso, in Kay County District Court.
Heath is charged with a felony count of DUI with a blood alcohol level of .08 or more and causing great bodily injury.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper Aaron Crompton reports that at 6:11 a.m. on Dec. 11 he responded to a two-vehicle head on collision with injuries on U.S. 60 at 140th Street.
Crompton reports that he arrived and found a white pickup in a ditch on the north side of the roadway and a 2016 Honda Odyssey in a ditch on the south side of the roadway.
The driver of the van was trapped and had to be freed by first responders. The driver was transported to Blackwell hospital.
Crompton reports locating a bottle of Vodka on the driver’s side of the van. A Blackwell firefighter reportedly told Crompton that the driver of the van, identified as Heath, was drunk. Crompton reports that he asked Heath how much alcohol she had consumed and she reportedly replied, “A lot.” Heath was arrested and the charge was filed on Dec. 16. She is free on $50,000 bond.
The Kay County Detention Center reports that there is no mug shot of Heath available.
