The alleged victim told police that Powers suffers from a mental episode, got mad at her and chased her around the house with a knife. He reportedly cornered her in the bedroom and punched her in the face with a closed fist approximately five times.
The female reportedly told police she got away from him, grabbed her phone, coffee and cigarettes and went to a neighbor’s house and called police. (Her phone wasn’t working.)
Officers report that the woman had dried blood on her clothes and injuries on her face including a busted lip and black eye.
Police arrested Powers and attempted to speak to him. Officers report that he was staring in a trance and then snapped out of it and reportedly told police he suffers from schizophrenia, had a memory lapse and doesn’t remember what happened. He reportedly also stated that he was suicidal.
Grand Lakes Mental Health Center was contacted and Powers was transported to the facility in Stillwater.

Garcia called for back up and then reportedly made contact with a subject identified as Sage Sawyer and told the officer that Powers was inside and scared.
Powers did exit the home and sat on the front steps.
Garcia reports that Powers then started attacking him and stated, “I’m going to cut you.”
A struggled ensued and the officer reports that he punched Powers five-six times in the ribs.
After the struggle, Powers was arrested.
