Bond for accused kidnapper set at $250,000

NEWKIRK — The suspect accused of stealing a vehicle from a Wichita, Kan. liquor store with a 6-year-old child inside is being held on $250,000 bond at the Kay County Detention Center.

Benjamin Kenneth Brady, 34, Meridan, Kan., was arrested by Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper Tyler Langston at The Pilot located on I-35 near mile marker 214 Sunday evening about 90 minutes after the kidnapping was reported. (see story)

Brady is facing probable charges of driving while licensed suspended, failure to stop when commanded, unauthorized use of a vehicle, kidnapping and attempting to elude officers.

An initial appearance is scheduled for Dec. 2 in Kay County District Court.
