Three arrested in Ark City in connection with shooting death of Rogers, Arkansas teen

ROGERS, ARK. — Three Arkansas City, Kan. residents have been arrested and extradited to Rogers, Arkansas in connection with the shooting death of a 17-year-old Alexus Nguyen on April 13.

Arkansas authorities report that the teen was found in a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head.

On April 15, an arrest warrant was issued for a juvenile male on a felony charge of manslaughter in the case.  Investigators believe the juvenile fled the area and he has not been located.

On April 28 police executed a search warrant on the then Arkansas home of Daniel Zenon Chavez, 44, Rosa Reyes-Zendejas, 42,  and Giovanny Zenon, 21.

Afterwards the three reportedly left Arkansas and moved to Arkansas City, Kan. and have reportedly not cooperated with law enforcement.

Warrants for the arrests of Zenon, Reyes-Zendejas, and Zenon were issued the first week of August.

The trio was arrested in Arkansas City, Kan., extradited to Arkansas and booked in the Benton County Detention Center on a felony charge of hindering apprehension or prosecution.

The investigation reportedly indicates that all three “conspired and orchestrated in concealing a juvenile male who shot and killed the juvenile female.”  The three reportedly have posted bond.
