Perry man killed in accident near StillwaterSeptember 11, 2022 | Featured|Headlines
STILLWATER — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that a Perry man was killed in a one-vehicle accident that occurred at 4:16 p.m. Sunday on Oklahoma 51 just west of Redlands Road, two miles west of Stillwater in Payne County.
Troopers report that James C. Goeringer, 62, Perry, was traveling east on Oklahoma 51 in a 2005Dodge Ram 1500 when he departed the roadway to the right, over corrected, and then departed the road to the left. The vehicle impacted a ditch and overturned approximately 1 ½ times, coming to rest on the roof in the westbound inside lane of Oklahoma 51.
Troopers report Goringer was ejected during the roll and died at the scene.
Condition of Driver Vehicle-1 – Apparently Normal; Cause of Collision – Under Investigation; Seatbelts – Equipped; not in use; Weather – Clear; Roadway – Dry, divided 4 lane.
