Two injured in accident on Peckham Road

NEWKIRK — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred at 7:48 p.m. Wednesday seven miles west of Newkirk at the intersection of west Peckham Road and S Street.

Troopers report that Kristy F. Thompson, 40, Blackwell, was airlifted to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kan. and admitted in good condition with trunk and internal injuries.

Dakota Hicks, 26, Garber, was reportedly transported to Stillwater Medical Center in Blackwell where he was treated and released.

Ponca City resident Patrick V. Rodke, 24, was not injured.

Troopers report Rodke was driving a 2013 Dodge Dart and that Thompson was the driver of a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu. Thompson was reportedly ejected from her vehicle.

Troopers report that the conditions of the drivers were apparently normal and that seatbelts were in use. The cause of the collision is under investigation.
