Warrants issued in stolen vehicle case
July 26, 2022 | CourtsNEWKIRK — A failure to appear warrant is issued for Candise Renee Cross-Sallee, 26, formally of Winfield, Kan. and Ponca City, by the Kay County District Court.
Cross is facing felony charges of conspiracy and possession of a stolen vehicle filed on Aug. 4, 2021.
Blackwell police report that on June 6, 2021, officers responded to Casey’s fueling station for a report of a physical domestic.
Officers reviewed video footage which reportedly shows Cross and Race Tyler Salle, 26, Ponca City, involved in a verbal altercation and at one point Salle reportedly shoved Cross away from the vehicle.
Police learned that the vehicle they were in was reported stolen out of Winfield, Kan. the day before.
Inside the vehicle, police report finding paperwork from the Cowley County Jail belonging to Salle. The vehicle reportedly had an Oklahoma license plate with a Kansas tag duct taped to the right corner.

Both were charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and conspiracy on Aug. 4, 2021.
Cross was arrested and booked in the county jail on Dec. 2, 2021. On Dec. 20 she was released on an own recognizance and then failed to appear for a court date on March 4.
The court ordered her OR bond revoked and doubled to $50,000. Attorney Thomas Griesedieck has withdrawn from the case.
Salle has yet to be arrested on the charges. A warrant for his arrest is active with bond endorsed at $25,000. Vinelink shows that he is in custody in Grant County.
