TONKAWA — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that one person is injured and three others treated and released following a two-vehicle accident that occurred at 11:05 a.m. today on U.S. 177 and Hartford Ave. northeast of Tonkawa.
Troopers report that Wu Lin, 35, Murrieta, California, was driving a 2018 Subaru Outback southbound on U.S. 177 when he slowed to make a left turn onto Hartford Ave.
A 2006 Dodge Ram driven by Marvin Reed, 62, Arkansas City, Kan., was reportedly following too close and tried to pass on the left. He reportedly collided with Lin’s vehicle in the northbound lane. Both vehicles departed the roadway to the left and landed in a ditch.
Troopers report that Lin was transported via Blackwell EMS to Dean McGee Eye Center in Oklahoma City where he is admitted in fair condition with an eye injury.
Reed was transported via Tonkawa EMS to the hospital in Blackwell and treated and released.
All three of his passengers, Lyllian Reed, 59, Arkansas, City, Kan. and two juveniles ages 15 and 6, of Blackwell, were also transported to the hospital in Blackwell and treated and released.
