Failure to appear warrant issued for domestic assault suspect

NEWKIRK — A failure to appear warrant is issued by the Kay County District Court for Michael Quincy Morris, 35, Tulsa.

Morris has two cases pending. 

On Feb. 4, 2021 he was charged with domestic assault and battery by strangulation.

On Feb. 10, 2021 he was charged with first degree robbery and drug and firearm charges.

Ponca City police report that on Feb. 1, officers responded to a report of female shot by a male subject at America’s Best Inn. Upon arrival, police made contact with a female who reportedly told them that she was staying at the inn with Morris. She alleged the pair got into an argument and he took her purse and left. He reportedly fired a gun into the air when tried to stop him. She was not shot. (see story)

Morris failed to appear in court today.

Bond for Morris is endorsed at $80,000.
