PONCA CITY — A Lamont resident is listed in good condition following a one-vehicle accident that occurred at 10:09 p.m. Thursday at Prospect and LA. Cann.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that Bryan Dowell, 31, was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro northbound on L.A. Cann when he passed another vehicle in a no passing zone and met another vehicle.

Troopers report Dowell attempted to continue northbound but lost control of his vehicle, causing it to depart the roadway to the right and impact a concrete cylinder.

Dowell’s vehicle then rolled end over end approximately three times before coming to a rest in the trees facing northbound. Dowell was ejected 25 feet east of the vehicle.

Troopers report he was transported to Alliance Health via Ponca City ambulance and then transferred to St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa where he is listed in good condition with head and neck injuries.

Troopers cite speeding and improper passing as the cause of the collision and report that Dowell was intoxicated.
