PONCA CITY  — Parents who want their children to attend the spring 2022 Ponca City Virtual Academy semester need to complete an application, which can be found on the PCPS website, https://www.pcps.us , under the Parents & Students tab by Dec. 3.

The applications must be returned in-person to the Registration Center at 111 West Grand between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The semester begins on Jan. 4

Applications will receive a time stamp and students will be enrolled based on the order in which the application is received. Space is limited because of staffing issues.

Once classes fill, students will be placed on a waiting list according to the time stamp on the application.  Students with medical issues will be given priority.

All students considered will be required to participate in an interview which will be scheduled by phone.

Students who were dismissed from PCVA or displayed poor attendance and or work habits will not be considered.

Parents and or guardians of the students who are rostered into the program will meet with school officials to receive student devices, workbooks, and handbooks. They will also sign an agreement to the terms of the program.

Students who fail to complete coursework as the semester progresses  will be placed on probation. If they fail to catch up within a week they will be required to return to their home site for instruction.

Since students will be earning credits and completing coursework based on a semester pacing guide the final deadline for spring semester applications is Jan. 28.
