Two out of state juveniles arrested after pursuit

The following information is provided by the Kay County Sheriff’s Department.

Nov. 15

At 8:36 a.m. Kansas Highway Patrol notified KSO of two juveniles reported missing were traveling southbound on Interstate 35 from mile marker 42 in Kansas in a white 2011 Chevrolet Silverado. Officials later learned the vehicle was reported stolen out of Gage County, Nebraska.

A deputy located the vehicle at mile marker 223. An OHP trooper responded. At 8:56 a.m. the trooper reported he was in pursuit of the vehicle with speeds reaching 95. The vehicle exited the Interstate at U.S. 60 and headed westbound past 60th Street at speeds of 90mph. At 8:59 a.m. the trooper reported the pursuit was entering a wheat field and that the vehicle hit a fence. The vehicle exited the field and left on Highland and the trooper got held up at Gate Road. At 9:01 a.m. the subjects were reported to be on foot running towards Hartford though a field. A deputy launched a drone and Tonkawa police set up a perimeter at 108th and Hartford. Via drone officials were able to see the juveniles laying down in a field.  At 9:21 a.m. the two were arrested. Tonkawa Towing was called to the scene for the vehicle. The two juveniles were taken to the Kay County Detention Center and later transported to a juvenile detention center in Garfield County.

At 8:53 a.m. a resident in the area of Cowboy Hill and Highway 77 reported that someone cut the fence at the energy compressor station. Extra patrol was requested.

At 6:21 p.m. a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a blue Dodge Charger at 1st and Paden in Blackwell. Warrants were confirmed on Nicole Glenn. The vehicle was towed.

Nov. 16

At 7:30 a.m. PCPD notified KSO of a 911 call reporting a male in a vehicle near Jake’s Fireworks thinking he was having a heart attack but refused an ambulance. A deputy checked the area.

At 9:10 a.m. deputies responded to a report of an unresponsive male in the 6500 block of east Coleman Road. Trout Funeral Home responded.

At 3:34 p.m. Michael Burk’s was arrested at the county court building. At 3:35 p.m. Cody Ross was arrested at the same location.

At 8:55 p.m. Blackwell police responded to an unattended death in the 300 block of west Padon.
