Warrant issued for Wellington, Kan. man accused of larceny and unauthorized use of credit card

NEWKIRK — A warrant is issued for Timothy Jerome Hill, 35, Wellington, Kan.

Hill is charged in Kay County District Court with larceny of lost property and unauthorized use of a credit card.

Ponca City police report in the affidavit that on April 26, a resident reported her wallet was stolen from inside Lowe’s. Later that day, the debit card inside the wallet was used at Jiffy Trip, McDonald’s and Valero. Police obtained video footage and saw that the male using the card was driving a white Ford F 150 with Kansas plates. The tag was traced to Robert Whaley in Wellington, Kan.

Police contacted Whaley. He reportedly told police that he let Tim Hill borrow the truck with the understanding he was going to buy it.

Whaley said he hadn’t seen Hill or the truck in three months. PCPD contacted Wellington Police who said Hill had been arrested on warrants on April 13. Police were able to identify Hill from body cam footage recorded during the arrest. Bond is endorsed at $3,000.
