Sallisaw man sentenced to 35 years in prison on eluding and drug charges

NEWKIRK — Tyler Lee Talbott, 33, Sallisaw, entered a guilty plea in Kay County District Court to felony counts of endangering others while eluding police; Assault and battery with a deadly weapon; Running a roadblock, and misdemeanor charges of obstructing an officer, possession of a CDS and Unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He entered a no contest plea to three other misdemeanor charges.

Talbott was arrested by Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper Tyler Langston on Nov. 9, 2020 at the intersection of 7th Street and Victory following a pursuit. (see story)

Talbot was sentenced by Judge Lee Turner to 35 years in prison with all but 15 years suspended with credit for time served. He was also sentenced to one-year in the county jail.
