Blackwell man convicted of rape, sodomy

NEWKIRK — Brandon Lee Sodowsky, 47, Blackwell, entered a no contest plea in Kay County District Court to felony counts of second degree rape and forcible sodomy.

He was charged with the offenses on Dec. 22, 2020 after Blackwell police investigated allegations made by a 15-year-old boy. Sodowsky is now convicted of engaging in sexual acts with the teen. The court sentenced Sodowsky to 15-years in prison with all the time suspended. He must register as a sex offender and have no contact with the victim.
