The following information is provided by Blackwell police.

March 20

At 2:15 a.m. a subject contacted police and wanted to speak to a counselor. One was contacted and an appointment made. 

At 4:18 a.m. a subject contacted police and said he was looking for his windows.

At 5:07 p.m. police received a report of a male throwing a female’s stuff out into the yard in the 300 block of east Lawrence.

At 7:29 p.m. a female call police and reported she was in an accident east of Blackwell on Highway 11.

At 7:35 p.m. police responded to Dollar General for a report of a subject passing a counterfeit bill.

At 9:30 p.m. fire units responded to a report of smoke at D and Blackwell. It was a fireplace.

March 20

At 12:56 a.m. OKC police confirmed warrants on Xelfred Willis.

At 8:04 a.m. Major County confirmed warrants on Russell Lee, 52.

The Kay County Sheriff’s Departments received reports of a phone scam on Saturday.

According to the radio logs, at 9:54 a.m. two residents reported receiving calls from 580-203-5202, a Fort Townson number. The caller claimed to be named Sgt. Cann and was asking form information on sex offenders. At 11:38 a.m. a third subject reported receiving a call from 580-485-6747. The caller said his name was Sgt. Johnson and he was requesting DNA samples from sex offenders. At 3:26 p.m. another caller reported receiving a call from 580-203-5202 and again the caller claimed to be Sgt. Johnson who was collecting DNA for offender registration. All of the calls were deemed a scam. Residents are reminded to never give out personal information to strangers over the phone.

At 11:21 a.m. deputies received a report of a suspicious male subject in a pickup up at the dead end of Highland. A deputy made contact and learned that the male was picking up used brass for reloading. Checks were conducted on a series of firearms.

At 4:41 p.m. KSO responded to a report of a subject shooting at another in the 100 block of east Rivera in Tonkawa. Tonkawa police and Fort Oakland police also responded. A information report was made.

At 7:50 p.m. Pawhuska police confirmed warrants on Melissa Shook.

At 8:38 p.m. a OHP trooper confirmed warrants on Amanda Hightower at Summit and Oak in Ponca City. She was arrested and transported to the county jail.

At 8:49 p.m. OHP worked an accident and Doolin and O Street near Blackwell. A vehicle hit a mattress in the road. One subject was transported to the hospital.

At 10:02 p.m. Cowley County confirmed warrants on Robert Jeffries. At 10:20 Cowley County advised Jeffries was heading to Kay County and was at the gas station near First Council. A deputy responded. Shaneika Criner and Jeffries were arrested on warrants.
