Blackwell woman convicted of conducting COVID-19 scam
March 11, 2021 | Courts|FeaturedNEWKIRK — Christi Dianne Brown aka Christi Dianne Rhodd, 39, Blackwell, entered a no contest plea in Kay County District Court to a charge of unlawful use of a computer to defraud.
Rhodd was arrested by Blackwell police after she was accused of conducting a COVID-19 relief scam on Facebook.

She reportedly convinced a Blackwell resident to send her $300 and in return the woman would yield a larger return.
Sentencing was deferred by Judge David Wilkie for five years. She must be under D.A. supervision for 18 months, pay restitution, write an apology letter, maintain employment, and complete 80 hours of community service.
