High School bowlers earn honors

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Ponca City High School’s Boys Bowling team competed regional competition at Heritage Lanes in Oklahoma City.  

Coach Duane Hunt said the team averaged 161 a game during the seeding round and earned a second place seed.  

During semifinal match play, they defeated Dickson High School 3-2 to advance to quarterfinals where they were defeated by Bishop McGuinness High School Bowlers.  

Alex Gaytan was named MVP for the team and Aiden Patterson was named to the Oklahoma High School Bowling Region Team. 

“Each of the team members bowled well and are to be congratulated for their efforts,” said Hunt.
