Rape case against one former wrestling coach dismissed; Other cases pendingFebruary 27, 2021 | Courts|Featured
NEWKIRK — The case filed against one of three former Ponca City High School wrestling coaches has been dismissed in Kay County District Court.
Former Wrestling Lay Coach Dylan Warren Schickram, 21, was charged on Sept. 28, 2020 with rape and soliciting sexual conduct by technology with a minor. The case was dismissed recently on a motion made by the state with out costs or prejudice at the request of the alleged victim.
Two other former coaches are still facing charges.
Former head wrestling coach Jared Daniel Wynn, 31, Ponca City, is facing misdemeanor charges of harassment by use of electronic device and permitting invitees under 21 to possess and or consume alcohol or CDS. He is scheduled to appear on a misdemeanor docket on May 19.
Volunteer coach Justice Cole Circle, 23, Blackwell, is charged with felony counts of lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16 and soliciting sexual conduct and or communication with a minor by technology. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on May 10. The three were charged after Ponca City police investigated complaints against the wrestling program.
