PONCA CITY — Ponca City police initiated a pursuit of a stolen vehicle Thursday at 10:06 a.m. that led to the arrest of a Tulsa man.

Sgt. Kevin Jeffries said the vehicle was stolen out of Osage County.

The vehicle, a silver Dodge single cab pickup, was traveling west on Highway 60 from Standing Bear when an officer got behind the vehicle. The suspect turned north on Waverly, east on South Ave. north on Lincoln, and west on Otoe.

Kay County Sheriff Steve Kelley and undersheriff Sean Grigsba joined the pursuit as it headed west on Highland. Jeffries said the suspect crashed into a ditch near the intersection of Highland and T Street and fled on foot but was apprehended at 10:17 a.m.

Jeffries said Douglas Lloyd Wilson, 56, was arrested and the vehicle was returned to the owner.

Wilson was booked in the county jail on complaints of possession of a CDS, eluding police, possession of paraphernalia and knowingly concealing stolen property. Jeffries said no one was injured and that all involved did a good job.

Wilson is the same subject who was arrested by Kansas authorities in October following a pursuit. In that case he is accused of stealing a vehicle from a Ponca City dealership. (see story below)
