Warrant issued for convicted sex offender

NEWKIRK — A warrant is issued for Wade Hampton Kennon, 64, Braman, who is charged with a felony count of failure to register as a sex offender after a felony conviction.

Kay County Deputy Larry Burtner  reports the last time Kennon registered was on Sept. 10, 2018.

Kennon has been known to live in Enid and to be transient.

Burtner reports that Blackwell police issued a trespass warning to Kennon at the Jiffy Trip on March 13 and a traffic citation on Jan. 1, 2019. He is believed to be living in the Braman area.

Kennon was convicted in Oak Grove, Louisiana on March 16, 1999 of second degree rape and lewd or indecent proposals and or acts to a child.

The Oklahoma Sex and Violent Offender Registry site shows that Kennon has a tattoo of a dreamcatcher on his right shoulder and that he may have been employed at H&K Trucking located in Braman and or Eric’s Trucking in Tonkawa.

The last vehicle he registered was a 2014 black Jeep Wrangler. Bond is endorsed at $2,000 bond.

Anyone with information on Kennon’s location is asked to call law enforcement.
